Collage with artist ‘Collagism’

🗓 Wed 7th May, 6:30pm - 9pm
✂️ Tools, materials & snacks provided
🎟 $75 - $95

Join us in the studio, with guest artist Collagism (aka Holly-Anne Buck) for a hands-on art workshop, exploring the creative possibilities of analogue collage combined with AI-generated imagery.

Using Collagism’s prints of her surreal handbag and shoe artworks, you’ll cut, layer, and remix her printouts, along with traditional collage clippings to create new, out-of-this-world collages.

This session bridges the digital and physical worlds, demonstrating how AI can serve as a dynamic tool to add to artistic expression rather than as a replacement for human creativity by looking more broadly at Remix culture!

Collagism will talk about her art practice that spans over the past 25 years working with collage, performing and exhibiting worldwide. As well as discussing how she has recently embraced the use of AI to take her art practice further. You will explore different ways artists can use AI with traditional techniques to grow their art form. This is a rare opportunity to learn and discuss collage and its future with an artist who lives and breathes it! Fun guaranteed!

About the Artist

Collagism, aka Holly-Anne Buck is an Australian artist who has been working with collage over the past 20 years. She works with collage in every form, whether it’s cut and pasting images, animation, music or site-specific installations.

As an exhibiting and performing artist, she’s shown work globally, including at the National Gallery of Victoria, ACMI, Ian Potter Centre and Tate Britain, just to name a few.

In recent years Collagism has moved into AI image making, seeing prompting as the new form of collage.

Her recent series of emotional baggage handbags have been shown at Gallerie 37 in Berlin and Mars Gallery as part of Melbourne Fashion Festival.
